Our luncheon talk is about Time & Horology, the study of the measurement of time.  Bill Olmo will talk about what time is and how we’ve measured it over the ages.

Without time we’d have “everything, everywhere, all at once”.  So, in case you've ever wondered- how did the ancients perceive time?  Or, how do we and modern physics perceive time? Or, what are conceptions of time?  Well, you'll have all your questions answered in one afternoon!

And, did you know that there are over 80 sayings that contain the word “time”, such as: “As time goes by” & “Time flies when you are having fun”.  You'll hear about that, too!  Time will fly for us at this luncheon.

Bill’s talk has been described as “Humorous, well put together, interesting, provocative, and fun”- you won't want to miss it!

Bill was drafted into the Army and served at Fort Ord (by the sea), Fort Riley, Kansas, and at the Presidio of San Francisco.

Bill was an Instructor in Math and Circuit Design at Heald Engineering College and  a System Engineer working for IBM in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Ramon.   He retired as Consulting Systems Engineer and  was, later, a Trainer in PC Classes at the New Horizons Computer Learning Center.

Bill has a BS in Math from the University of San Francisco and a BS in EE from Heald Engineering College.
